Ferozepur Rail Division Records 6.22% Growth in Freight Loading, Hosts Successful BDU Meet
Ferozepur, April 22, 2025: The annual meeting of the Business Development Unit (BDU) was successfully conducted yesterday at the Divisional Office auditorium under the chairmanship of Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Mr. Sanjay Sahu. The meeting saw active participation from major freight clients, including representatives from Setia Industries, AVG Logistics, Gaurav Enterprises, TCL, ITC Industries, Gateway, and CONCOR.
During the meeting, Ferozepur Division presented its freight loading statistics. In the financial year 2024–25, the division achieved a total loading of 10.43 metric tons, reflecting a growth of 6.22% over the previous year 2023–24. To further enhance freight handling, two new goods sheds will be constructed, providing improved facilities for freight customers.
The division is also focusing on upgrading existing goods sheds, with development projects worth approximately ₹390 crore underway. Plans are in place to establish new goods terminals at Padhav Mahna and Badhai Ballamgarh stations.
Addressing the freight clients, DRM Mr. Sanjay Sahu emphasized the need for a collaborative and coordinated approach to strengthen commercial ties. He highlighted that strong partnerships between the railways and industries could not only boost freight loading but also effectively meet the needs of the customers.
The meeting was attended by Senior Divisional Commercial Manager/FS Mr. Manu Garg, Senior Divisional Operations Manager Mr. Gurusharan Pathak, along with other railway officials and supervisors.
