Ferozepur Police arrest three smugglers, seize heroin in Anti-Drug Campaign
Ferozepur, March 20, 2025: In a significant breakthrough under the ongoing anti-drug campaign, the District Police, led by Senior Superintendent of Police Bhupinder Singh Sidhu, arrested three smugglers and seized 1 Kg 747 grams of heroin in two separate operations.
Inspector Abhinav Chauhan from Mamdot Police Station, acting on confidential intelligence, led a successful raid in the fields near the Indo-Pakistan border. The operation targeted Balwinder Singh alias Kulwinder Singh, a known smuggler, and his associates Charanjit Singh alias Channu and Akashveer Singh alias Gagan. The police arrested the latter two, recovering 1 Kg 647 grams of heroin and packaging materials, while Balwinder Singh managed to escape. Efforts are underway to apprehend him.
In a separate operation, Shiva, a resident of Ferozepur Cantt, was arrested with 100 grams of heroin. Investigations in both cases are ongoing.
Senior Superintendent Bhupinder Singh Sidhu lauded the efforts of the police team and reaffirmed the commitment to combating drug trafficking, marking this as a major victory in the fight against narcotics.
